Author Topic: Does anyone think Real-Time ray-tracing will be revolutionary?  (Read 5275 times)

absolutely approximate approximated faster rendering by definition viable

Hey guys they just invented graphics. Thoughts?

The real innovation in both of these papers is foveated rendering, which adapts the amount of things you need to render based on where you are looking, this in turn makes ray-tracing viable for commercial VR application.
its indeed the blurring of anything your eyes are not looking at, like the real life equivalent. This is achieved with an eyetracker. It allows the blurred textures to be lower res and the blurred objects to load a lower LOD model

get a life

brotherS really be out here arguing about ray loving

its actually just aide

Aide why you getting in a knot over this

get a life
this is not ray tracing

im arguing that you dont know what you are talking about and are using ray tracing as a blanket term for stuff like eye tracking

you initially argued that ray tracing is not revolutionary because it renders stuff but because

which is not the case, ray tracing doesn't do this. this is not what ray tracing is at all

and hes just trying to backpedal with random papers that have nothing to do with what he claimed initially

Aide why you getting in a knot over this
because he "destroyed" me by posting a paper that literally had nothing to do with the point of conversation, I find that incredibly disingenuous and a sign that he doesn't really understand those papers at all

I normally don't get this fired up from online discussion and I initially thought he linked me something that would prove me wrong tbh but when i read through the entire paper and it having nothing to do with ray-tracing at all got me going. I find it really offensive when someone tries to argue in bad faith.

anyways I apologize if I came off really brash

its ok hootaloo is a punching bag anyway

because he "destroyed" me
i didnt even post this that was someone else.
i also had some serious rl stuff happening when i added the article to my first post and since i wasnt actually arguing with anyone at that point and know how little people read articles here i decided to just post the first google result as i knew that my own words in the post are correct.

youre trying to get too much out of what little i posted and are assuming a lot. "arguing in bad faith" is utter projection, ive got nothing to say

shut the forget up Biqus maybe if you spent time finding a hook-up instead of anime butt pictures youd get your richard wet for once

alright, well I apologize for the offensive language, hope I didn't rattle you too much.

I maybe overreacted on the little you posted so I'll give you that, but you where still technically wrong. Arguing anything beyond this would just be arguing the semantics of what you said and if im correct, english is your second language right? (assuming your hootaloo) so sorry bout the misunderstandings.

props for admitting your mistake though
