Richard Stallman, The now former president and founder of Free Software Foundation, has Resigned from his role of president from FSF after the stupid stuff he said online.

As much of a autist he was after these 30 years, it's surprising it didn't happen sooner. He was an important fella for the history of free software, too bad he lost all his reputation.

Sure, let him resign, and then what? Does he suddenly become less handicapped? Is the Free Software... Foundation free to pursue less handicapped things under new leadership? I don't get it tbh. He resigned. Why? It's my company. Go forget yourselves wtf

free software has been nothing but good for software as a whole. I bet your the kind of person that would love to pay for a loving notebook app, then fork over a monthly subscribtion to skype, then take all of the windows telemetry spyware up your ass while zuckerberg watches you jack off and defend his right to run malicious code on all of your company hardware.

It's not that. I have no issue with paid or subscription based software, it's that developers should have the choice to do it. People online cite Richard Motherloving Stallman constantly and i've even argued with one whom actually said it should be illegal for developers to make their program, their hard work, closed source. This is the kind of stuff he's inspired in the communities he was apart of.

i say this as a person that uses linux: richard stallman is a dummy that obsessively preaches over how everything must be free. i acknowledge he made several good contributions to whole software industry but that doesnt excuse him from butting around
edit: i was using him preaching about free as an example. by "free" i mean stuff like "software must be open source or its horrible", which i see as a dumb opinion. he's what happens if you take the negative stereotypes that people give to linux users and you turn them up to 11.
