Author Topic: Any one knows a program or method to compress a stuff ton of recorded videos  (Read 658 times)

I've got alot of video game recordings over the years but im starting to run out of space and id like to keep my 500gb worth of vids.
Any methods of compression?

If you have 2 hard drives you can zip the videos and put them in 1 of the hard drives

ffmpeg
This but get QWinFF if you don't want to use a command line.
It haven't been updated for 5 years but it works just fine.

Storage is cheaper than ever, just buy a bigger hard drive.

Handbrake. You can set it up to transcode whole folders full of video files to a specified quality or a specified bitrate.

Handbrake

If you have 2 hard drives you can zip the videos and put them in 1 of the hard drives

Use handbrake to convert them to mp4 then use 7zip to zip them into a .7z archive with LZMA2 compression: use only 1 or 2 CPU threads since anymore more than that will split the data into chunks
