Author Topic: Ai is a lil scary  (Read 1827 times)

I noticed I have a weird habit while typing posts so I googled to see if anyone else does the same thing.

I don't think this has ever been a thing, I don't think anyone has ever really talked about this.

Any opinions? Am I going crazy?

I tend to make new lines in place of where a period and start of a new sentence would be more appropriate because i like to make my posts more spread out and readable rather than all dense and clumped together

And i just don't want to be that guy who types in perfectly formatted English paragraphs, yuck

So if a post ends up being 3 paragraphs, or 3 lines, then that's just how it be sometimes

I definitely recall learning the described structure for essays in either junior high or freshman year of high school. I would bet the LLM used probably just decided the token "forum post" was close enough to "essay" here.

every forum post including this one is ai generated

yeah this is just the three paragraph short essay format

another example of google AI stealing something else and calling it what I googled (steam achievement name)

it's a classic writing technique; point, evidence, explain, or something similar that gives the same three point structure.
it got me through all my academic assignments so it's no surprise that the AI summary picked it up too.

Yuck? I feel that typing in well-formatted paragraphs is perfectly acceptable when one needs to make clear large amounts of information (or discourse). Anyway, AI is already harming the professional and creative abilities of adults. I can't imagine what it'll do to children who grew up with stuff like Cocomelon and watch Youtube slop for 80% of the day. Maybe instead of this wave of neo-puritans, we'll get a few waves of anti-AI neo-luddites among generation Alpha?

Same, I learned about it in elementary school, then was taught to do a similar 5 paragraph format later on in education
