Author Topic: i live in a different place than i used to  (Read 359 times)

as some of you may know, i have lived virtually my entire life, with the exception of about 6-8 months i spent in kentucky when i was 16, in the state of alabama; not only that, but within an approximately 20 mile radius the whole time
now i live just outside of seattle, washington, with my gay boyfriends

it was a long ass drive to get here! about 2600 miles, 40ish hours, over five loving days, approximately. departed on july 8th and arrived on the 12th, with my car, and a uhaul truck driven by my mother, my only unemployed friend who would go for it. the two of us struggle to get along over an extended period of time, so it was rather testing for both of us. but we got here, had dinner with my partners, then I drove her to the airport to catch her flight back home

since then it's been pretty busy around the house between unpacking all my stuff, them unpacking all their stuff, and trying to get the place into a nice and usable state. still not quite there yet, but most of the urgent stuff is taken care of. the living room is still a bit of a wreck though. hoping to get that sorted over the next week or so, so we can start thinking about having friends over and stuff like that. fun

that's about it I figure. just a little update. this is one of the biggest life changes I've ever made and so far it's going pretty well. hope it pays off long term
if any of you people live within driving distance (according to a particular definition of "driving distance") of seattle, and would like to meet a cat in real life, it's possible that I would be game. I'm always looking to add more BLF users to my list of successful irl meetups. unless you're a stuffhead

ok bye

congrats on the move. if you ever feel down dont forget to check and see if a lightbox will help

two of us are cats and one's a raccoon bro this stuff is NOT biodiverse. we're gonna go loving extinct

congrats thats a helluva drive

i've been meaning to visit the PNW at some point

happy for you! as someone who made a similar in distance move before, it's no small feat.

prepare to have your life get exponentially better as the people you surround yourself with are people you actually enjoy. in big metropolitan areas, you can basically filter your circles to any niche imaginable. have fun :)

I've actually already got a lot of friends here, which was part of why it was my intended destination. it's a little funny because I have more friends within driving range now than I did in the place I lived for 27 and a half years. and not cus I didn't have friends there! this is just a really popular place for furries and trans people to move i guess rofl

congrats! moving across the country is loving miserable and is something i refuse to do again if i can help it lmao. i only did it like 1/2 cross country but even that was a pain

if i ever go out to seattle with my partner maybe we can say hello

how many dishes are in your sink
currently there is one stainless steel pan, one tupperware container from leftovers when i made marinara the other night, and a couple of sets of utensils from various usages over the last few days. the dishwasher is full of clean dishes though because i have been too lazy to empty it rofl

I have a friend that lives nearby in Whidbey Island with his navy boywife. If I ever have the chance to fly over there to see him, maybe I can take a detour to meet you too?
