Author Topic: Way to port v20 maps to blender?  (Read 13254 times)

longshot but might as well, is there a way to port maps from before the slate-only update to blender in any way? or even convert them to an obj or something else that can be imported through blender naturally?

this version of blender 2.8 has a .dif importer, although none of the textures will be imported, you can at least get the interior models. from there you can export it as an obj and import it into blender version that supports exporting to .dts

I did this once in 2017.

Used Torque 3D > Maya LT > Blender 2.7ish.
I believe I posted about it here:

I have no idea if the software is still available.  But the textures came out intact.
Configuring the software chain might not be worth it for your project, but for that kitchen project, retaining the original textures was easier than remapping them.

Sorry for showing up 3 weeks later with this.  But y'know, life, dead game, all that nonsense.
