Author Topic: Dr. β's Vintage Screenshot Vault  (Read 122 times)

Hello there! I started playing Blockland in 2007 when I was 11 years old! During this time, I had a nasty case of child-onset OCD, which manifested as a compulsion to take Blockland screenshots constantly. As a consequence of this, my screenshot folder has become so big and unmanageable that it has begun eating itself, and temporal leakage has caused the chronological order of the files to become scrambled. A more positive result is that I now have a repository of thousands of screenshots from all different eras of Blockland history. In the hopes of grinding down this massive image folder into lifeforce for this community, I will be going through it and posting my favorites here. I have been playing this game so long I no longer remember taking most of them. It should prove..... informative......

Some of these screenshots might not seem like much to look at, but I believe they have value as a time capsule of Blockland as it was.

This one gave me goosebumps. Like this feels like what the game felt like to play at that time, somehow. It conveys the feeling.

I started playing around the same time, so I dug up a few shots I found in my oldest blockland install still shoved on an external archive:

Blockland just had that vibe.

I don't have as many screenshots from the eras as I'd like, but if you have more I'd love to see them.

I picked that one specifically because it shows some addons that were super common at the time but I'm not sure if they even exist anymore. I haven't seen that flamethrower model in over a decade. Anyone feel free to post any old screenshots too.

The first screenshot I ever took. Moments before I found out the jeep can fly.
