Ah it's just like the good old days! Four pages in not even two days full of people yelling each other.

Anyway, being tribal and sensible is dumb but also the brickadia devs seem like ban-happy powertrippers. Why is it that when the stakes are so low, people get so amped up? All this drama is starting to make me appreciate how Badspot handled things (for the most part). Hands off until the hacks and exploits come out, and doesn't flinch at calling someone a furcigarette. I like furries and have lots of gay friends and still see that interaction as being funny. What happened to people on the internet having thicker skin?

And I know there's something to be said about not wanting to let a community of tribals fester and breed in your game. It's usually not a big deal because people can just block and ignore them for being losers, but when your game's population is like 20 people, a band of 5 tribals is 25% of your community. So I guess they just get overprotective and go overboard with the moderation. Banning Sylvanor just seems hilariously stupid though.

What?

your responses only encourage him, and everyone else, to bait you further. they will never change their minds, they will never listen, they are not worth your (or anyone else's) effort.

I know that already. I've long since known that.
We were once ideologically aligned until I broke free of their indoctrination.

this really is 100% how you're supposed to run a sandbox game. it's counter intuitive to the sanctity of your product to jeopardize any potential fun or avenue for innovative ideas. the only time you should intervene is if someone is doing something illegal or game breaking. granted badspot had rules that he'd do little month-long bans for, but they were minor quality of life matters that didn't stem from politics. political beliefs are too nuanced to be banning people over. what you may deem egregious is probably baby stuff to most people and you risk nuking your own community over it. i mean i just assume this is what you would want if you want to maximize playability (more people = more money. the longer people play the longer the window of time is for them to introduce it to others = even more money). pretty much every other sandbox game operates this way

What happened to people on the internet having thicker skin?
i mean ironically its because of coddled communities like that. blockland was a self-policed community that largely kept users in line by dunking on each other and making each others life hell. id consider that one side of the extreme. on the other side you have communities like brickadia that baby their community at every corner and big moderation dictates every punishment and transgression. their users get called furcigarettes and run to the teacher to tattle on you cause they dont know any better (or worse)

So you a liberal would NEVER befriend a kool kids klub member because they are tribal, fascists, etc.

but a black man did just that he befriended several kool kids klub members and convinced them to quit. His friendship made them switch sides.

The cancel culture people on the other hand will cancel me over a 15+ year old joke.

and then after apologizing and telling everyone I support LGBT rights and stuff they'll still never respect or accept me and I'll always be a bigot to them because I'm a straight white male

and you expect me to join your loving side with all this hate? This is "toxic positivity" it's not loving love.

that's not even close to accurate. fail meme lol. the context here is that the game host / game client should be in control over most of these things. let's go over some examples:

someone is hosting a server with bad words or racial slurs in the server name:
solution: client can block/remove said servers from the server list on their end
not: complain to the developers that so-and-so is toxic and have them banned from the game

someone is joining multiple servers spamming the chat or being an starfish to others in the server:
solution: admins ban them from the server
not: complain to the developers that so-and-so is toxic and have them banned from the game

the only time a user should be banned from the game as a whole is if they are actively trying to jeopardize the game's integrity (exploiting code vulnerabilities, DDoS attacks, etc)

I know that already. I've long since known that.

What makes me "indoctrinated" I am not even a MAGA, BTW.

I like offensive jokes and I make fun of everyone equally. I don't care if you're black, gay, asian, white, handicapped, etc.

I literally don't fit on left or right. I was in the middle but you people moved so far left I am now considered right.

I have never voted in any presidential election in my entire life, I was even considering voting for Obama once. Good thing I didn't because this nonsense started with him.

showing lgbt support isn't manipulation. t

You do know you can be gay and not fly the LGBT flag right? Flying that flag means you support what the LGBT represents.

If you actually opened your eyes you would see why you shouldn't blindly support something. Unless you support child genital mutilation, trans women in women's sports and allowing the state to take away children to pump them with hormones without consent from the parents. And many other things

So again, you can be trans, gay, etc without blindly supporting the LGBT you are not required to support the LGBT and everything they represent.

Just because I like certain things the right or "alt-right" likes that doesn't mean I blindly support Annoying Orange either. You won't see me wearing a MAGA hat, and not because your side would beat me to death for wearing it. It's because I don't blindly support Annoying Orange.

“I’m not MAGA” *vomits MAGA talking points* “Still totally not MAGA though.”

don’t insult my intelligence.

I have been made aware recently of another issue regarding trans things on brickadia (see attached image)

There is one player, which is indeed very young (13) who was hosting that server, and in the description it was saying "no swearing (5h ban) and "no weird trans gender"

I mean, dont get me wrong, i have 0 issues with trans people, but the moment A YOUNG PLAYER enter the scene and put rules like that, he was literally assaulted on the discord, a lot of players asked moderators to get him banned or at least blocked. They could have instead contacted him and explaining why he could change the things, or at least clear the matter.

The dude had to stop hosting. do theses people understand that dude was young, and probably raised in strong christianity? How do you expect to have game success if the moment someone dont agree with others people opinions, he get ghosted and harassed by people? because this is defo harrasement. You cant agree with everyone, such is life, but you cant ban everyone that dont agree with.

It is definitely a "not very welcome atmosphere"

now who sounds indoctrinated.

Take antifa for example just because they are called "anti-fascist" doesn't mean they aren't fascists

Great value walmart food is not a great value

You're being a loving handicap.
