General Life Retrospect Thread

Randomly clicked on Decepticon's avatar and saw he's 25, and I remember reading/replying to his posts and others like him in like 2015-16 whole bunch. Ppl like him were teenagers back then, as was I. I know that's just part of life, time going by and all, but I just wanted to ask everybody how life feels now compared to then. Do u wanna turn back the clock and relive all that again, or are u happier where u are now? Some distinct regrets?

Me personally even tho i did like chatting a bit 10 years ago it did cut into a lot of my studies and time that I could have been more productive when I had a more spongey child brain. Not that I can't keep learning stuff now, but it is definitely advantageous to acquire some skills young. im making ends meet which im pretty grateful of, but i always teeter between whether to like get outta comfort zone and become some important guy (like a tradesman/handyman) or just keep cruising and doing what is right in front of me. has anyone here did some ambitious stuff? do share

the only thing i'd want to relive from the days of my youth would probably be high school football. i miss pulling that chinstrap tight and hitting the quarterback lol.
the first thing i did when i graduated high school was enlist in the navy and then subsequently quit (yes im a pusillanimous individual)... they locked me in a hotel room for 2 weeks during COVID and at the end of that i was like yeahhh.... maybeeee not. that singular decision has made the most impact on my life... since then i have spent the last 6 years shoveling rocks, whoring, and boozing LOL. the weird thing is i would actually be ending my contract right about this time had i stuck with it. i can't really say i regret my decision but i often wonder where i'd be at at this point (24) had i followed through with my obligation

has anyone here did some ambitious stuff? do share

i bought an acre of land last year (at a good price and in a great location), the theme there is that i suffer now in my 20's so when im 30 i won't have to struggle so hard. all i've really accomplished out there is basically rebuilding an old garage that was falling apart. i still don't have water or power out there quite yet (i don't actively live out there) but that's a little further down the line on my long list of stuff To Do. probably the most "ambitious" thing i've done yet... if you could call it that. even a little later on (probably 2028 or 2029) i intend to start my own landscaping business... but i'm nowhere close to that point quite yet lol

no shame there, i didn't even try enlisting in the military at all - partly because of how much my parents told me i would die and compare it to the vietnam war. but i do like how the boot camps whip you into shape and probably make other seemingly tough things appear much more minor.

way more ambitious than anything i've done. but what is that acre for? is it a farmland? and what's the location for, some kinda clients? but yea good luck on the landscaping. hope you don't mind wasps and other stinger richardheads. i kinda got a phobia for those things

i plan on building a house there at some point and living on it. it's zoned residential. and maybe after a few years and a family i can sell it and buy more land
