I prefers X-play's (I used to watch them) style of rating out of five:
1-Very below average, basicly worthless
2. Below average, bad, but not compleate crap.
3. Average
4. Above average, either is not quite perfect, or has a flaw bringing it down.
5- Very above average, basically near, or is perfect.
This gives the best range for rating in my opinion. With a ten or a hundred point scale, 1.53 or a 2.25 are both crap, small numbers mean little. Also, with such a rating system, most people who are impartial will give the same raiting.
