Well, i've just had the idea of reproducing all the valve games possible -- sure, some people thought of it before, but I'd think it'd be a great thing to create a whole online system for those games.

So here's my ideas;

Base System
>> User registration (For banning of: Trolls, hackers?)
>> Downloads (Of course!)
>> Games list
>> Hosting, tools
>> Chat (IRC, perhaps?)
>> Demos (Later, big files ;_; (10mb + = :( ))

Games
>> Mods like: INSURGENCY, S&I, Synergy
>> CS:S, DoD:S
>> HL2, ep1, ep2, DM, etc.
>> HL:S, HL:DM, etc.
>> Portal

Now, we'd need some people that know every single square inch of every game we intend to design, a decal maker, and some good builders and modelers and scripters.

At my guess, to get the whole base system + 2 games would take 6 months if we have enough people working on it.

You don't need to make an entire online system for this crap.

Reinventing the wheel is only good if you cant change the current wheel into what you want.

Because it might be fun to have something with the complete source code on an easily moddable game.

okay all this is is a blockland version of Steam and VALVe games (mods) really, do you know how much work this would be? just go play those games! less work/wait, and more fun! and if you don't have those games, go get them if you want to play them! don't have any money? go mow a lawn or something! but common! point is, no ones gonna do this!

Well a system online for downloading the mods in-game would be awesome y'know.

@zackin5 I'm bored, I could work on it on/off and I could find some ways to make some money (my own mods, not valve ones on the system)

No you can't, If it is based of source then you can but if it based off a game it does not count.

No you can't, If it is based of source then you can but if it based off a game it does not count.

I meant I could sell mods not based of a game.
