Author Topic: Crash when flatshadeing....  (Read 1487 times)

Everytime I try to spawn  a vehicle thats acculy flatshaded correctly, my Blockland crashes. I dont know if im doing this right. These are the steps I take.
1.finish model
2.combine all the parts with similar color and name them"[color]100"
3.select all,(with face tool)
3. vertex>unweld
4.uncheck auto smooth
5.vertex>weld together
6.export TGE plus
7.
8. start BL
9.spawn the vehicle
10.crash.

Am I doing the flatshadeing right?

Vehicle - Collision = wtf no Collision fu crash. Make a box called "col" or "collision" with out quotes and see if it makes a difference.

Some thing to do with the collision is failing, I'm sure of it.

dose the collision's LOD needs to be 100?

Try with it as 100 (But you'll see it ingame) but if it still crashes set it back to 100. Hmm have you tried exporting via the normal torque exporter and not plus? Could be a script problem.

you're doing it wrong

you're modeling how i used to, by overlapping EVERYTHING

so.. cant be overlaped?
He's just pointing out your bad modelling skills, nothing to do with the fact its crashing. Question, what are you make this as? a 4 wheel vehicle or a Player etc?

wheeled vehicle with flying proporties.

In that case, i fail at modeling D:

hmmm.. maybe your model is too large, my blockland does that and i tested quite big models and it crashes...

i think...

no its as large as the stuntplane.

Look at the accidentally bumped trader's tutorial. Only, make the LOD, 0.
And when he says to leave the "Tile texture mapper" how it is, make it say cubic instead. Worked for me. :D

And don't forget to get the latest version of milkshape, the latest is 1.8.2
