I've been impressed with all the models you guys have done so far.

Do you plan on having the lights on that building actually light up when you place it in game?
Wouldn't be a bad feature, though at the moment we're just going for basics, pretty glowy lights and in-depth details comes after. However I want to make foggy air come out of the back of the Support Station, so you know there is actually air coming out.

Done:
-Cave brick system
--Cave is made of bricks now, wall type is determined by paint color.
--harder rock requires dynamite or other tools
--solid cannot be destroyed at all
--Ore seams drop 3 ore(compared to normal rocks dropping 1)
--Crystal seams have a 100% chance of dropping a crystal(compared to 1-5% chance of other rocks)

-Dynamite
--Place onto any rock wall brick(except solid rock walls)
--detonates in 5 seconds
--destroys the targeted brick

-Shovel
--Basic mining tool
--Kills loose dirt in 20 hits
--kills rock in 60 hits
--cannot destroy tough or solid rock.

-Ore
--Dropped when a wall is destroyed
--can drop in clusters without stacking
--can only pick up one at a time
--(unfinished)switching to a tool drops your ore
--(unfinished)used to build

-Crystals
--Have a chance of dropping when a wall is destroyed
--same features as ore
--(unfinished)used to build and such

-Drill
--Like the shovel, but stronger and faster.
--Takes a second or so to charge up, then pounds into the rock at amazingly fast speeds, destroying loose dirt like it isn't even there.

Very lovey. Rkynick, do you think you can get Ore done by the end of the month? Or even week?

I'll one up you-- its almost done now. I just need to make a custom item for it(right now I'm using the hammer item) and add a dropoff zone and some things packer requested(having switching items make you drop it).

:D

I love how this mod is turning out. Now to go learn torquescript so I can help you guys out.

I'm off to play a little DoD:S, eat dinner, and handle things I need to do for tommorrow.

I'll be back to work on more stuff before the night is over. I'll probably finish up ore and start something else.
I'm back. Time to finish ore.

Edit:

All in all I managed to get a lot done today and hopefully packer, whenever he sees this, will be happy progress is being made.

And then he will be unhappy when he realizes I've been to lazy to implement any of his models thus far(everything is a hammer-- the drill is a hammer, the shovel is a hammer, the ore is a hammer, and the crystal is a hammer. Fun!)

Isn't it really easy to use new models?

Hammer still works as a great placeholder still. Glad to hear about progress.

He failed pretty hard, I've given him full access to all of the models over drop box and they are all ready for implementing via a script. He just didn't touch them, whad ever I'll give him what for in a pm.

I agree with packer you shoulden't use hammer for everything...

If I were you I'd:
1. Fix the "hammer for everything". I want to see pictures of guys holding the models.
2. Work on getting buildings built with ore.

I pretty much "Updated" Rkynick on what he needs to do, its quite a lot so I don't think you'll hear from him for a quite a while :D He's probably gotten depressed cutting his wrists in his room from what I said.

FYI the models where done, he just failed at finding them in my folders.

Did he eventually find them? Or will they elude him forever?

He hasn't responded yet, he won't for like another 16-18 hours.
