No sound effects?

When I'm on the main menu or on the Esc menu,when my mouse rolls over the buttons no sound comes out.(buttons=options,i.e. Join game or quit.)

Help?

I have a similar problem, but it plays like wrenches and glass breaking and really random things

Alt tab will cause sounds to get screwy.

To get sounds effects to play you must download that serves sound which can be set in the options menu

Are all three volume bars at a reasonable height in the Audio section of Options?

And is the Audio selection OpenAL?
