Author Topic: CI image not transparent  (Read 1925 times)

So I made this M16 CI icon (shown in corner by player names when someone is killed by that weapon). Problem is, the background is white, not transparent.
An easy way to fix this?

What did you make it with? Using any decent program, you could make it transparent really easily.

There might be something I don't know about, though.

I used Microsoft Paint :p

Get a program that handles transparency, such as Paint.NET.

Ok, thanks. Something that doesn't require .NET though?

The .NET has nothing to do with the program... it's just the name.

I have to download a multi-megabyte .NET package in order to install the paint app...

oh. excuse my lack of common sense  :cookieMonster:

Uh, not sure if Giffy would work... it's a program you can use to apply transparency to .bmps and save as .gifs... and .pngs? Can't remember.

Paint.NET is worth it, anyways, if you're at all into graphics.

Nah, only gif and bmp/jpg. I need png...

Oh well, I'll download .NET then.

The GIMP?

Here, I fixed the icon for you and made it transparent. Do not save things as JPG files, they can't do transparency and 'compress' the files making them low quality.

Pixel32 is a nice, inexpensive photoshop clone too.

Hey how did you guys make CI's?

(searchingzores....)

Spawn the projectile model (unless it's melee, then use the weapon), print screen, ctrl V in your preffered image editing programme, paint shades of red, delete background, scale, save.

Paint shades of red?? How the... X_X
