Author Topic: Forward Ports and the Server is Dead  (Read 1874 times)

For some reason although my ports are forwarded my server appears dead. Can anyone help me?

Which guide did you use to port forward?

Did you make sure to disable any annoying firewalls like ZoneAlarm?

I used your guide, and yes I checked the firewall.

What kind of router are you on? Did you follow the guide exactly? Did you use the correct IP for your computer (not the one at www.whatismyip.com, but the one in your network connection options), Did you forward 28000 to 28030 on both TCP and UDP?

I also have this problem, I did all the steps including firewall but nothing has happened. My router is a sonicwall TZ-170.

Your router appears to be handicapped, since you can't specify a forwarding address.

My router is a Belkin F5D5231-4v3.

Bump so Ephiliates can help me.

All I do is follow the portforward.com instructions - I don't have some secret thing I do to make it work. You must just be slipping up somewhere. The key things are these:

  • Make sure you have YOUR network IP (it should be 192.168.x.x or 10.1.x.x)
  • Make sure you've forwarded ports 28000-28030 on TCP AND UDP (If there is an option for "Both", choose that)
  • Make sure you don't have any wacky antivirus still hiding anywhere, it'll definitely mess you about.

If you still can't get it working, I can remote access your router but only if you're comfortable with that option. I'm just not prepared to do the whole screenshot relay thing where you send me a load of screenshots of everything - it takes too long.

Sometimes people can join, but most of the time not.

Wish I had modify. :| Anyways, just noticed there is a option for TCP AND UDP.

You want that one then. Some people make one service for UDP and one for TCP, but if there is the option for both - always do that one.

I applied the settings, mind checking my server?
