I have made a simple start on a working movers script, currently just a start, but it is working so far.
The only exception is that bricks will not save when made into movers but will if the mover data was loaded from a file.

Other than that what is missing is some features.

Anyway, the only public distribution so far has been to Trashman, but I plan on a more public release after some tweaks and fixes(and features).

For you no pix, no clix people, you will have to find a server that is using it.

I was able to create moving bricks to some extent, I have plans to expand them but depending on what Qwertyuiopas's have feature-wise and what his plans are release-wise, I might not have to start on those plans.

Anyways, sounds cool.

Qwertyuiopas:
I think I solved the saving issue.

rkynick, if you could PM the account Qwertyuiopas your email, I could send you what I have. It's been so long since I got any use from it except poll participation...

I had one of these that kept deleting and recreating bricks to make it appear to "move". It didn't look right since the you kept hearing the plant sound and it couldn't overlap, float or do anything without breaking.

Qwertyuiopas:
Well, due to my experience with the digging mod, I was able to use my own brick creation, since it does not need to check all of those, so it can pass through objects and float, and it preserves the settings since it just hides the original.

So far, simple movement works fine, rotation is pointless, and triggers and triggered stuff is not there yet.

Well, it now has a GUI, and all but the triggered on clic options work(kill is admin only)
I also saves and causes no errors, or loss of data.

It ALSO comes with a tie-in to spaceguy's wrench events(via a package) so wrench events can trigger a mover!(allowing for the click triggers anyway)

Attached is a picture of the gui and item, and I will email anyone some people who contacts me for a copy(note, do NOT contact this account, contact the account "qwertyuiopas", though I can't PM a reply from it, I can read them and it has my Email address)
I am thinking about releasing it to well known scripters who ask, and trashman already has a copy.

I'll release the client code anyways, because I can!
remove the .cs from the file moversGUI.gui.cs
Had to attach the files one at a time, unfortunately, due to the maximum script time of 30 seconds...

can you ask qwer how to make a the right hand invisable plz and send it to me :)

This just looks like some crappy hacked up version of the RTB Movers. They have no place in retail now - you can't even move a brick in steps. I really hope this doesn't get out because people are just going to degrade their own servers by downloading this crap.

Lt Chub Chub:
Ephi don't judge it before you have seen it. From what I have seen it works just fine (better than RTN's moveing crap that made you jump around while standing on it, you stay in the same place on Qwerts movers)

RTB's movers worked fine when there weren't lots of them active. Maybe you should be better informed before you start trying to take shots at me.

So all this does is move bricks around the place? We already have a robust doors system by Trader which:

a) Doesn't lag.
b) Works fine.
c) Won't break the game.
d) Doesn't bypass floating bricks/build-through-bricks limitations.
e) Is programmed by someone competent.

All of these I could not say for the thing you're making. Space Guy's events will also be obsolete when v9 comes out with a far more efficient/effective system so making anything for that at this stage is counter-productive. I don't see why qwerty can't make normal things - he always has to jump up and try to be the best with these audacious ideas that are totally impractical and usually compromise some aspect of the game's rendering, performance optimizations and placement limitations. "Keep it simple, stupid".

Your really gona use a door as a elevator thank you Ephi I am going to go get Traders door and build an escalator!!!

Qwertyuiopas:

I really made this mostly for Trashman, so he could make his challenges as good as he used to(you probably haven't seen many of them).
Also, it wasn't that hard to do, it only took me one morning for the basic code and another for the GUI and advanced features.

Trader has just about completed a highly versatile elevator system for V9.

But is it out? No it is not. But on the other hand Qwert would give me the movers if I asked.

I believe that waiting for the high quality stuff is better than using the quick and dirty crap. You go ahead and use this abomination and I'll wait for V9 and Trader's elevators.
