I personally think the build is great. I really don't care how accurately it portrays the real statue, it looks awesome.

The statue is made of copper.  It is currently green because that is the color of copper oxide.  It was never white.

stay off of the topic of color, the color is what the color is now... a pale green. No more history facts, or scientific stuff. I'm working on a larger statue... It's going to take me a while.

Salt water can help speed the process up, but it's never necessary. I live in Boston, and all the old copper parts of buildings are that pale greenish color.
