I heard in a topic, that it's gonna be more organized, in order, and it's gonna automatically extract mods to the right folders.

is this all true?

You won't extract, it's that simple for that part. You'll just plop the .zips (NOT .rars) in your add-ons folder, if I remember correctly.

I beleive badspot was working on making it RAR compatable. I fogot if this was so.

It would be nice if we could here what format the folders need to be in for V9 so we can start converting our mods to be compatible with it.

I'm sure you would package it the same as if you were packaging it to be extracted into the add-ons folder. That's how it works in the add-ons folder in Gmod at least.

No, the file structure has been changed for the better.

i heard that if you go to a server running addons
(this is in RTB 2.0)
and download addons you don't have,
you get them for your servers.

Almost every gun add-on will need to be fixed, because there have been loads of changes to the way bullets work, the emitters they use etc. Its not a case of re-arranging the files, there is some work to be done to make them v9 compatible and hopefully this will help purge us of all the crappy addons (see: /pee, banana/homing missile)

I'm sure that, shortly before the release of v9, Badspot will either post a write-up on what needs to be changed from the structure of v8 Add-Ons to make them compatible with v9 or he'll have one of the testers do it.

BTW, does anyone know at least what year or month will v9 come?

I really need to know what will change so I can fix my weapon scripts.

Its done when its done, only a nub would panic, so what if people have to wait a week for the updates.

thats why I'm gonna reinstall blockland when V9 comes out, to get rid of all those add-ons i downloaded way-back when and cannot bring myself to delete
