Help with AoT!

So I downloaded AoT, and I updated it and all that, when it comes to install the update, i try to update it, but it says some files can't be created, and to reboot.  I do that, and try to log on to the game(I have fullscreen mode turned off)  And when its loading objects, it first says trying to download ghost objects or something in the ms-dos black box thing, then it says its missing interior/JLDavie/TRIGGER or something twice, then at the end, it floods the black box with "FXGrassReplicator - Couldn't find satisfactory position for grass 0.00!!!"

Please don't yell at me or call me a noob.  I am new to AoT.  And by new, I mean  I just downloaded it about 4 hours ago.

Is a normal error.
I don't know about the rest of the stuff.

FXGrassReplicator - Couldn't find satisfactory position for grass 0.00!!!

This happens to me too, just leave it for a minute and it should continue loading.

Well I got past the grass part, but now it keeps timing out.  Is this a problem with my own connection, or is this a server problem?

the problem is that it did not update correctly.  Reinstall the game and update it again.  When the update runs, wait several seconds before clicking "install"

Edit : I updated and did all that, it STILL keeps timing out.,

yeah

It kept crashing.  Say, does this game only work on certain OS's or something?

at what point does it crash?

about 5 seconds after the update installer pops up.   Y'know, where it says "DO NOT CHANGE DESTINATION" or something.
