Blockland Activity Tracker

Author Topic: Blockland Activity Tracker  (Read 2275 times)

Based on an idea by Wedge, I've setup an activity logger to log the number of servers and players every hour, and then plot them on a graph using the PHP/SWF Tool. I started it about 5 hours ago, so it won't have much data yet.

That was a good idea :)

This may be asking allot, but it'd be nice to get more from this.  A few things that would be cool if tracked to show more raw data:
Amount of public servers 0 through 1/4 full
Amount of public servers 1/4 full through 1/2 full.
Amount of public servers 1/2 through 3/4 full.
Amount of public servers 3/4 full through filled.
Amount of private servers.
Amount of dedicated servers.

This would be more complicated, but if done would show were most people are at any given time.

Its RTB website? So are you just getting them as a host, or is it RTB only? Assuming its Blockland because of the amount of players..

That is a good idea.  Add something else to it at least.

needs more pie charts :p

Suprisingly the server count is very consistent.

I like it, would be nice if you could change the displayed timezone though, and maybe a few other more advanced things like detailed statistics and past or total history.

Yes, it's on the RTB website. No, there is no mod needed to get on the list, and a server is counted whether it's RTB or not. I think it gets its data from here:

Good idea but the times on the bottom of the graph are hard to read, they kinda all run together.

Yeah I'll do something about that shortly.

We need more people hosting servers. And people wonder why its hard to find "the one good server;" Nobody but noobs and a handful of people host public servers.

No, it's hard to find an interesting server that isn't 'dead'.
