Author Topic: Mac Modelers, Rejoice!  (Read 5061 times)

Actually, I use it nearly every day at work.  I don't like it.  I'd even prefer a Linux distro to Mac OS.

Linux is nice, mac is nice, but I like my XP.

Blender works for Mac.

And, Blender is a chunk of fail.

Ok, fair enough. You aren't one of those "oMg i liek xp cuz it hav gaemz omg liek i cant liVe with0ut my gaemz i wonder why i doent have a lief omfg."

Blender is a chunk of gold if you learn how to use all of it's features and such.

XP is out of date but I have to say I don't want to spend an extra $50 Per game and some times not have the game work on MAC because ether the system requirements or just the fact no Windows game work on MAC's. If all I did was check my emails and surf the net then Maybe then I would use one but since I do a bit more then nothing on a computer I need a system that's most compliable and easy to use in terms of RIGHT CLICK. "MAC's have good movie editors", Congrats, while you fail at making movies I'll continue to play all of my games and mod at the same time.

Dude, get up to date before you insult Mac users :P . The mouse I'm using right now, for example (that came with my computer), has 4 buttons + a wheel (side click, left click, middle click, right click). By the way, I don't spend $50 extra per game. That would mean $100 per game, unless you get them used, which I can do too. Yes, our movie editors our good. Maybe I don't want to play all of your games? I have all the games I want, if I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY had to play a game only on PC I could just start up BootCamp and play it on my comp. And I really doubt you like play CoD4 while modeling or something. You might play a little, pause, minimize, model, minimize, un-minimize your game, play, repeat; but not both at the same time. 'Course, on Mac, you could just hit the key you have bound to Exposé, and switch programs.

When I saw the title I was :D But then when I found it it cost money i was ):
I don't need a hole modeling program, I just need a free way to export DTS

Those are ALL free, except the one with Houdini, because it's part of the program. You can get a .dts exporter for Blender if you want, but I hate Blender.

Tom

The Blender DTS exporter never worked for me when I tested it on a windows computer.

I am starting to take an extreme dislike my Mac, it keeps continually crashing and definitely doesn't have a virus. All the programs that I need are not supported (except for Blockland :P ). I am getting a Windows computer this summer, which I am sure won't have all the horrid problems and bugs that I am having to put up with at the moment!

I had problems with the Blender dts exporter, but then I got the most recent version of the exporter, and Blender, and it worked just fine.

You're probably not setting up the parents correctly. Search for a tutorial.

It's called Alt + Tab you freak.

I use Vista, Alt+Tab has been around since 98 or even 95. But I don't need to Model and play COD4 at the same time that would be pointless. I was saying I can Model and play games on the computer, unlike mac that can only play Some games and has very little compatibility. Mac seems more like a console using Emu's to me.

If it's crashing a lot, just head to an Apple Store, they'll give you a new one, as long as it's not some old piece of junk (which it sounds like it is...). If you're not near one, get ahold of customer service, just look on their site and you can find how to reach them easy.

Wupz :P . Oh well, I don't have to hit 2 keys at once, by default it's side click.

Yes, Macs can only play some games, if you don't want to run Windows Fail OS on it. Compatability...? Uhhhhh, I never have problems with stuff being compatible. A console using Emu's? Dunno what you mean by Emu's, but Macs are nothing like consoles. They aren't designed for 14 years olds to play games on.
