When i post stuff in the gallery, I post the pics and i have
to make a dirrect link such as how i did them here
http://www.blockland.us/smf/index.php?topic=37405.0
but some people such as here
http://www.blockland.us/smf/index.php?topic=37376.0
posted the pics without link and you could just see them
from the page.

Can anyone tell me how you do this?

Is it the uploading site i used, or the way people upload their pics?

YOu use the IMG tags, use them like URL tags.
