1-2 USSR/MotE They are constantly changing places on my list so I'm just listing like that.
3 After this my memory gets fuzzy as to "... there are more clans?", so

BAN(hold strong, damnit!)
PPT(Did I spell that right? Those guise have cool projects)
OC(Up there because they are a more welcoming clan that has managed to hold its ground)
Sheep(great bunch of guise, but really funny.)
P(don't see too many modding groups that bring together good scripters & modelers like this)
Botb(not really high up there anymore but in its hayday it was pretty cool. Up there now because it can claim that it was the original _otb clan)
JawA(interesting clan theme and all, and I've spent many a hour pondering over what the clan name means, or if they just capitalized the last letter to be like MotE or other such clans)
Snot! :D(not a clan, more like a cult following. Besides, Snot is just that awesome.
Anyways, if you want to be considered "in top 5 best clan" then your clan should be an active participant in the community, effectively shaping and growing the forums and the game, and making it a better place to be.
Look at USSR & MotE, they taught everyone how to use the ban button correctly.
Botb let everyone use their naming scheme.
Sheep gave us some laughs to shake away the cold.
OC took in newer members where others wouldn't
PPT gave everyone loads of fun on their servers.(whenever they weren't private, of course)
P has done absolutely nothing but I'm sure they will once they stop being dead.(where is the on button on these people?)
Snot! :D gave us peace, laughs, and ended world hunger, he also invented many household items we now commonly see in the house.
JawA had me thinking for an hour trying to figure out what their name meant.
All in all, every clan/Snot! :D gave to the community in some way, while you have been in your hole making private stuff.
