Yeah apparently they have a new 8800 out? WTFBBQ?

No, i'm not confusing it. The 8800gtx is essentially equal to the new 8800gts (the one i posted in your thread), but the 8800gtx is hard to find and much more expensive. The only game that the 8800gtx really beats the 8800gts in is Crysis, because crysis is the only game that takes full advantage of over 512mb of video ram.

BTW, your friend must be thinking of the old GTS by the way he listed that. The link i posted is the newest one.

Don't be torn. I can assure you that the link i posted is absolutely the best price/performance you can get for $250 and under. If you are really serious, and have some money to burn, go for the ATI 4870, for $300.

I get confused easily with all their names but I know that the GTS is supposed to be more powerful than the GT but until the release of the 512 mb version it was less powerful.

So I guess I should have said...

GS
GTS 320 & 640mb
GT
GTS 512 mb
GTX

Really they are all reasonably close to one another (except maybe the GS :p ).

What makes the new GTS better is the G92 architecture.

I recently got the 8800GT so I have no reason to upgrade as of yet. In a year or 2 it may time to reconsider however.

GS=Grand stuff

I HAVE to get that 8800GS I mean it sonly 120$! It is such a bargin!

NVidia apparently sucks at telling people things because me and my friend did not know they had new, less suck ones!

What about the ultra? :cookieMonster:

What about the ultra? :cookieMonster:

Probably just over-hyped and 45% more.  :cookieMonster:

also, yey I got the one they recommend to me :D

It doesn't really matter whether you got the GS or the GT or the GTXWTFBBQ card. In the end, they are all over priced and outdated before they are even brought to market.

Games have sort of slowed down when it comes to improving visuals and increasing system requirements, Crysis is still the top dog when it comes to crushing your hardware, even though it was released some time ago.

Just don't do something stupid like paying $2000 for one of those "Gaming" laptops. Now there is a big load of crap.

Amen.

My computer has an ATI Radeon HD2400. Yes, I'm on Mac. No, I'm not a huge gamer, so I don't really care how good it is. But what am it :o ?

ever since i got my new radeon with a big number in the 3800s or so blockland and other of my games have been strangly laggy. my brother says it might be a memory issue (ram). i cant figure it out i have two gigs of ram so far, and chat or commands in games are delayed along with my controls.

bitch bitch bitch (lol)

cept it sounds like memory :\ but 2g should be way MORE then enough for blockland.
and video lag wouldn't affect delayed text and controls i would think, just framerate.

nor would network lag affect them things.

are you trying to play windowed mode? full screen (in some cases for some people) IS better, and reduces lag. i think it changes how the active window memory is used.

well i also have the sims and battle for middle earth two on there so that could also be a problem.

bisjac crashed my sims 2 : (
