Author Topic: Grammar Mistake Rant  (Read 5522 times)

No one cares about minor grammatical errors, I wonder why you do? It makes me mad when people get mad at people for like the tiniest error.

Yeah, I wonder why he does care? Some explain to me what's annoying about this? What is the meaning of this.

I would lol if Spation came in here and said " I am right here silly! :D"

Probably one of the most common grammatical errors I've noticed is people forgetting to put a comma before the word, "and" when listing things.

It's optional. I usually do put it there though.

"Cookies, rice and pie"
"Cookies, rice, and pie"

Are both correct

I hate it when people use the wrong punctuation for "I wonder" sentences. In this example: "I wonder where Spation is?" is incorrect. when It should be, "I wonder where Spation is," because it's a statement, and not a question. That's my grammar rant of the month.

Irony and hypocrisy.
Incorrect, he in no way made the grammatical error he said he hated, so It is not irony nor hypocrisy.

This is not a statement.

He says he hates that particular grammatical mistake and yet he makes many. If he is going to make fun of someone doing ONE thing wrong then he should be made fun of for doing MANY things wrong. It is hypocrisy and irony.

It may be a little ironic seeing as he is ranting about grammar while using incorrect grammar, however if he was being hypocritical then he would have used "I wonder where Spation is?" in a literal term and not just as an example.

what.

Like when someone says "My interests are: basketball, baseball and soccer" there's supposed to be another comma before and.

Look at your post.
Probably one of the most common grammatical errors I've noticed is people forgetting to put a comma before the word>>,<< "and" when listing things.

I didn't realize that was there, I guess I accidentally hit it when I hit the space bar.

Like when someone says "My interests are: basketball, baseball and soccer" there's supposed to be another comma before and.

No. It is optional.

Yeah, it's optional. I used to do it, then I had an English teacher who actually marked them as wrong (not actually wrong, just informal style, which is basically the same thing as wrong when you are writing a formal essay), so I stopped using them.
