Author Topic: The internet is a mean place.  (Read 6311 times)

The Internet was made for trading and selling stocks, buying and selling things. Not to act like a ass all day and get our laughs, some one could say i'm wrong.
You're wrong. The internet was invented as a method to network multipule computers together.

Yeah... the buying and selling stuff didnt come till way after it was invented.

One time i said i was 10 years old and someone called me the b word. I don,t know why people cuss in front of kids on the internet.

forget you bitch

Wasn't the internet invented for the military?

Perhaps there have been a few threads before made like this.

Today i got a hold of Furdle's MSN adress and tried to chat with him. I didn't provoke him, but I ended up getting a face full of insults and curses, even before he realized who i was.

It makes me wonder if all the drama on blockland changed him into a bitter person forever O.o

To the point, sometimes we all just need to forgive each other. Find someone you were mean to in the past (not necessarily Furdle) and apologize to them for it. It will make both you and them feel better, and the only reason it could be awkward is if you make it that way. This is NOT a message i'm asking you to pass on to avoid a tragic fate like getting killed by the Ghost of Little Girl. I'm just asking you to remember this message and keep it with you before you could cause emotional damage to someone.

So keep your cool and your confidence and for once (especially on U.S. Independence Day), lets keep it friendly.
this is what iv ben saying but no one will here meh out

The internet is like this because there are no ramifications of your behavior. In real life if you acted like this, someone would probably pop your ass or something, but on the internet all you can do is swear back (or hax them lol)

You've been acting like a real richard recently. You should probably stick a cork in it for a bit.

Don't be mean to Colten. He's in the Jamaican Bob-sleigh team.

Wasn't the internet invented for the military?
Yes, the ARPANet. Then it was made public as a feature of no restrictions to spreading media, of course, if it doesn't go against law.

Cool runnings man.
I dont see any fun in acting like a punk on the internet. unless its toward other jerks.

The military information network used to be part of the internet, but due to potential compromise by hacking (and after actually having been hacked a few times) the military cut off all their ties with the internet. Now they have their own network cut off from outside compromise attempts by the best firewall there is: thin air.

So technically, the internet is a by-product of the military, rejected for it's friendry.
