Author Topic: Static IP (port forward) issues.  (Read 592 times)

I am using a MacBook (but with XP installed) and I take the cable out of the home computer from our DLINK 502T DSL broadband and plug it into my computer. I forwarded the ports and can host, but it resets itself. I tried to get a static IP, but then all internet doesnt work. I tried 3 times, and rechecked the information I was entering for IP, Subnet, ect.

Now, I can't host and can't use static IP or the internet fails.

Make sure you set up the DNS correctly. If there is only one DNS I have no solution, if there is 3, then try different combinations of 2, if there is 2 then just use them.

I found out it told me exactly the 2 DNS numbers there were in a special tab.I typed them in, it worked for a second then stopped allowing me to use the internet one again.
