This doesn't even work. San tried to log into our accounts in his H2V and we still had silver subscription and all of its features on a 360.

SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS WHAT THIS IS ABOUT EXPLAIN IN SIMPLE DETAILS FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND!

Playing LIVE is now free on PC, but it still costs money on the Xbox.

Thank you, christ that was simple enough.

And what the hell? It cost you money to play windows games online lmao!

then why dos it mention Xbox Live?

Because there are some games where you can play with people on the Xbox. Like that Final Fantasy one, or Halo 2.

and Nintendo would be going "crap, there goes are plan to have a service like x-box live and make money off of it", but apparently they don't care about the "hard core gamers", or any real "gamer" for that matter.

Why should they care about "hardcore gamers"? Their old principle customers bought whatever stuff they crapped out as long as it said Mario or Metroid on it. They will just continue that trend.

The casual gamers are where the money is at. I can't blame Nintendo for pursuing bigger heaps of cash, I mean, that's what they have always been doing right?
errrr...no.

Nintendo hasn't been giving much to hard core, and I had thought I was more of a casual gamer...until this year's e3.  I not be really hard core, but I definately feel like my Wii's game library will only increase one or two game in the next 9 months or so.  They are putting out a bunch of new games but most of them I'm finding are simply too light for my taste.  I was pumped up for a new LoZ, and possibly that new Kid Icarus game.  What I got was a music game that once looked cool is now a toy for idiots who can't figure out how to read music, there is a new sports game coming out that has cool games, but nothing to keep me occupied enough to make it worth $50, a Animal crossing we knew was coming anyways, and tellings of a new pickman game that is expected.

Everyone is out for the money, Reactor, that argument was invalid.
I'm sure Sony doesn't release the PS3 because it makes MGS lovers happy, or the like, it's because they want to make profit out of it.

I've never owned a mainstream Nintendo console before (Apart from the SNES, but that was ages ago) and right now it doesn't seem to be as worth it as my PS2 or my PS1. Then again, buying a PS3 would have probably been even crappier. I guess I'm happy with it.
I've always wanted to try out the new Mario and Sonic games that only come out for Nintendo consoles.

Right now I feel like dragging out the old ps1 and going do a discount bin and buying a bunch of discount rpgs and playing them, because it doesn't seem anyone is making games for the crowd between very casual, and first person shooter junkies anymore...

I'm not saying Nintendo is the only one trying to turn a profit, of course everyone else is to. It's just the unscrupulous way Nintendo keeps recycling their IP's is really pathetic.

Thread meaning: Games for Windows/LIVE is now free.

Games for Windows is JUST like LIVE except its for the PC, even though they're both the same thing except different systems. It allows you to play 360 gamers on the PC.
Lets say for example Bob is playing Halo 2 on his 360. Bob wants to play Halo 2 with Jeff, but Jeff doesn't have an Xbox or a 360, only a PC with Windows Live and Vista. Jeff also has Halo 2 but for Vista. He plays Halo 2 on his PC, and through Windows Live he is able to play with Bob, even though they're on different systems. This only works on PC games supported by Games for Windows that are also on 360.

What the topic starter is saying is that both LIVE and Windows Live are free, possibly including Gold subscription as far as I know. This means you no longer have to pay to play online on Games for Windows or Xbox Live.

tl;dr:

first paragraph: Games for Windows Live is like Xbox LIVE except for PC, even though they're both on different systems.
second paragraph: Both Games for Windows Live and Xbox LIVE are totally free. You can play multiplayer as much as you want.

osht edit: Very important:
Playing LIVE is now free on PC, but it still costs money on the Xbox.
byebye tf2 on 360, at least I can look forward to H2V. :panda: If multiplayer is internet, shouldn't we be able to play online freely without charge?

Everyone who mentions Halo2 PC seems to forget that it's total stuff.

xbox360=  good: FPS's, action/adventure games in 3rd person(assasins creed :D) and 2 person 3d fighting games (mortal combat kombat) good online
bad:pay for online

wii= good: some rpg's, some 2 person 3d fighters, mini-game games(such as mario party or wario ware) free online motion sensors

bad=crappy games have online, online lags on certain games, no online lobby/way to know other peoples friend code, different freind code for every single frickin game sensors get messed up easily

xbox360 wins over most games, but those nintendo fans that have been playing since the NES love nintendo always.

oromis, why the forget are you starting a console war?

This free stuff isn't for Xbox. It's for Games for Windows. The only 360 games that will be free to play online are the Games for Windows games.
