Author Topic: Internet Fails When I Port Foward  (Read 671 times)

Yesh, i did port foward correctly and yesh, people did join my server when i host but apperently when I close my laptop and later on (Ranges from a day to a week) i lose internet, have to UNportfoward, then go to command, type "ipconfig/release" then "ipconfig/renew" and my internet is back. Can someone explain why?

Don't know what the hell is happening, but an easier way to fix it would be to restart (unplug and plug back in, don't press the reset button) you modem, router, etc. My internet goes out a LOT, because our phone adapter is a piece of stuff.

Unplug everything, plug in your modem, wait till the power light turns from red to green, and the Cable, Activity, and Ethernet lights turn green. Plug in anything between your router and modem (I have a phone adapter), wait for that to be ready, then plug in your router and wait for that.

Might be different depending on what you have.

sorry for late responce as my modem FAILS on me

anyhow, that seems to fix it but this never happened for three months without any problems, its like what happened when i first set up my modem and router, the router had 6 lights, power, recieve, send, online,PC activity, and standby (Its the motorola one) but it keeps failing and stays blinking on send, wtf?.

no modify

Whats worst is whenever i call Comcast, they try fixing it but when all else fail, they say "um, im sorry we fail and suck but we can send you a tech guy", sure i accept but then when the guy gets here, my internet is working fine as if it choked or something and the guy looks at me as if i pranked call him.

Isn't it because you incorrectly setup your static IP?

Control Panel > Internet and Network > Network Connections

Then right click on your main internet connection, select properties, click on internet protocol, hit properties, and set everything to automatically. It should fix your internet.
