Author Topic: Blockland for iPhone/iTouch?  (Read 4677 times)

Would it be possible to port blockland mac to the iPhone/iTouch? I don't have one and I'm not really a mac fanatic, but I heard it was easy to port mac programs to them and I play another game that did it. It could be single player only if needed, and hosting a product on the app store is free.

Middle button = Fire
Scroll wheel => Move the 1/2th person camera.
Scroll wheel (Pushed down) , Move your player.
Controls seem to work a bit.

There is no scroll wheel or anything on an iphone or ipod touch.

I could port blockland portable, the iPhone has a lua player now.
Would just have to change controls and rendering.

I thought it was impossible due to iPhone/iTouch having only 16 MB of RAM.

Potato, Pototo, Tomato, Tomoto.

Ever heard of slang and/or acronyms? You should post that in the pet peeves thread.

I was hoping it would be possible to port the entire retail blockland with single player only (as I stated earlier, it is supposedly easy to port a mac application to the iPhone/iTouch.), if possible, maybe downgrade a little, but also maybe cut the price in half for only single player? Apple only takes like 30% of the profit if I remember correctly.

But there is a touch screen. If someone is creative they could make different slide/touch combos to use the various features. You could also use the accelerometer to act as your mouse.

Lets port it to the Xbox and PS3 while we are at it too!

Actually, not only would that work, but I would buy it AGAIN for the 360. It'd be cooler if you play with people on Xboxlive and on PC Too. Although, the major issue is Add-Ons, but they could be checked, then put up for free in the marketplace.
