Help: What is a "Bump" ?

 I don't want to sound like a TOTAL newb here, but...

 I've been on these forums for a year now, and almost every topic I look at has either the creater of the topic, or some random guy just saying "Bump".

 So, in newb traditional language:

 "WAT I TEH BUMP?1?!@"
