Is there life after death?

Author Topic: Is there life after death?  (Read 30526 times)

You know, instead of poking at people's validity, why don't you share with us what you believe?

Actually...I had a thought. Time to be a conspiracy theorist.

Dreams, every human has them. However, dreams can vary in lengths. No one knows why, but they know how (You brain is still conscious). Sleep for 5 hours one day, you might have a dream that appears to be 10 hours long. Sleep another 5 hours another day, you might have a dream that seems 1 minute.

Your body can react to dreams as well, If your falling off a cliff and hit the ground, your brain sends a signal, basically sending your body in a short spaz. Or if you are drowning in your dream, you will not breath until the last second. You mind cannot let dreams kill you.

Now going back to the theory that our lives get repeated.

Our brains can hold huge ammounts of data. More then we can handle. And Data we cannot understand. For example, Ever get that taste in your mouth, of some food you love. However, you have not had that food in a long time? How can it remember what it tastes like? You cant tell others in language, unless you find some way to speak exactly what the spices, meat, flavor tastes like. And I am not talking about "The food is spicy" or "Its hot"

Now,most people who are dieing have claimed to see their life flash before their eyes. Could this be the brain attempting to save the body by placing you back in your childhood? Placing you in a realistic dream where you cant tell the difference. As I said, the brain can store massive amounts of data, thus, it can make you react to pain, tickles, or anything. Why? Because the brain says so. The brain controls what happens when you are dreaming.

Now comes my huge conspiracy thing.

Ever experience Deja Vu? No one can explain how one is able to see the future through dreams. However, what if your body is coming out of the dream, and you have some control over your dream. Then wouldn't you think that place, and part in time look familiar to you?

All of the above is my theory. I don't give a damn about people (like Ibanz) coming in and ragging on this whole thing. Why? Because that is how we learn. We come up with a theory, and then argue about it until we come at some logical reasoning.

Also, to all those people ragging on Ibanz, at least he has some logic to back him up.

dreams are roughly 20 min long. and come at the (name here) stage of the 6 sleep stages. as you rotate through the stages over and over as you sleep.

What I am getting at, is sometimes, your dream may be you spilling a cup of orange juice. Where as, other times, it might have a deep and evolving storyline.

I had a dream one time where I died.
I respawned.

I was an atheist ever since I went to church and was like "That makes no sense, and if it doesn't make sense then I don't want any part of it!"
Which was maybe in Kindergarten. We stopped going to church nearly after that, woo!
I might have not been able to make a sentence like that while in Kindergarten, but that's how I thought.

Also Bisjac every sleep cycle your dream part of it gets longer and longer, that's why polyphasic (loving firefox thinking that's a wrong word.) sleep is bad for memory and learning.

About death, I believe that our body just ends. Our minds stop working, meaning there's nothing like our minds becoming a ghost and going out of our body. But then what if we actually have some hocus pocus soul that is the actual control of our brain which then goes out of our body in some magical way, but then again, you can say anything will happen if you say it uses magic. Also that reminds me that you can SAY anything, but that doesn't mean it's the truth.

Oh and back on subject, here's my morality of death. If our lives are going to end and nothing special happen afterward, then I would like to do something epic and godly to this planet so the world will remember what I have done. I want to help my children's children's children's..etc. If I do have children, then I bet I will love those little guys to death(literally) and I want to make sure they are well off when I go away.

Basically, if I am going to die, I rather go out with a big bang (Used as in form of "awesomeness" instead of theory) and help my species evolve into the most loving awesome creatures of this universe.

I mean, why die and have done nothing for mother earth and my species?

Out of all the questions in the world, This is the biggest hot potato.
Like, you can't simply float to heaven, Or become non-existent, since well, when you think about it, it's just confusingly impossible!
I believe in two theories.
1.) You'll re-incarnate as another life form.
2.) Your body may be dead, but your consciousness "Is energy" So it can't possibly get killed.

Anyway, Discuss this complicated question.

Dude, omg thats what I think exactly. The energy is the word i was looking for.

Edit: If I had to believe something. Below post is more like it.

Your consciousness is just your brain sending off signals of being aware.

If you meant CONSCIENCE, like basically whatever you think is right or wrong, all depends on what your brain is programmed to believe and your genes that you inherited from parents also help.

I believe in the same stuff. I believe you go to heaven before you're re-incarnated, however.
No demons, no hell, just good.

genes don't affect what you learn, lifestyle, or personality. :\
and they don't change (on a person)

when will people learn this.

I said the wrong thing, what I mean is how your parents teach you is the main factor of how you'll start your life. Either as some closed-minded handicap or some one that's more open-minded.

Actually Jsk
Your consciousness is just your brain sending off signals of being aware.

that basically answers his question:

Dude, omg thats what I think exactly. The energy is the word i was looking for.

Electricity is energy, and as we know by science energy can't be created or destroyed, so it is possible it can be stored. And here's a thought, we've noticed that through out our earth everything has a cycle, but it repeats it's cycle: even stars, because when they die sometimes they become super novas and recreate another star. So who's to say that if everything has some kind of continuing cycle why not life? Because if you think about it, life is something so mind boggling advanced that why would it just be destroyed like that? (and yes, I release that there's the: "life-cycle" but then maybe it all fits together, maybe when someone dies, they're brain wave's electricity (memories, thoughts, emotions) are given to an infant. And as we all know, we're still in development while as infants, so we forget basically everything in our first few year's of life. So who's to say we just don't forget it and relearn it all? I mean, baby's always seem like they're trying to speak, maybe they can speak and just don't have the capability in the body they are in.

Or we all just die and it goes black. Though because we're dead we never notice. So it's it.

Wherever we go, I do agree with the whole "leave a big mark" shabang. That's why I'm glad I have such a well rounded adaptation skill. I'm going to be the next Mel Brookes. :D (act, write, direct, produce, music, comedy, drama, you name it, I'll do it. Though I could use my skill for something that would actually make an impact... eh, I'll let Jsk cure cancer, maybe I'll run for president)

Life isn't a thing, though. We define life as...

"Life is a condition that distinguishes organisms from non-living objects, such as non-life, and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism and reproduction."

Life isn't a thing. You cannot recycle life in a traditional manner of transplant. The energy of a person is a result of their metabolism. Once a person has stopped producing energy, they are not alive.

We are born.
We grow up.
We forget.
We die.
Our children are born.
Our children grow up.
Our children forget the children of other people.
They all die.

I don't understand what's so hard to grasp about death. When you die, all processes (besides decomposition) cease. All energy production cease. There's nothing going on in your body. There is nothing to pass on to another place or person besides the nutrients of a plant you fertilized.

Which is exactly why I think we should just all try to help our families, our species, in fact the whole world (at least the part of it that's not a douchebag).

I remember in 5th grade in school the teacher was asking what is our life goal.
Most people said Go to heaven, which was idiotic since that's not really a life goal.

When she asked me it was..
Me: I will make an invincibility potion. ( I said it for the lulz following)
Her: Wow! Well when you make it can I have some?
Me: No.
Me: :D

It is hard to grasp for many reasons. One being that in total darkness, humans must travel blind. It may be that our bodies become lifeless after death, nothing may happen. It is also a possibility, that our brain can attempt to save our bodies, by forcing us into a dream.

However, everything we say, even if it has the most logic behind it. And the most common sense. It cannot be proved. No one can die, then come back to life saying "Ohai, this is what happens"

However, As IbanZ theory is possibly the most correct. No theory can be proven. Mine, his, no ones. However, I would like to tell IbanZ that we still have yet to scratch the surface on bodies, life, and death. Thus, That puts all of our theories at even ground.

In the end. This topic needs to be closed. Its just another topic that will never end until someone basically says "OMFG IM STUBRN MY WAY GOES" and then a flame war starts.
