I'm glad the addons are gone...The only one I truly miss is the duplicator wand but I think we can expect a replacement for that shortly.
As for doors and elevators...those are both mods made by Trader, not Badspot. Trader stated he was waiting for the release of V9 to release them, but I think you confused that with "V9 will have elevators and doors".
Custom bricks can be made, but at great hassle and difficulty. I have heard rumors a better method is on the way, but we shall see.
