Author Topic: Lag when looking at many bricks  (Read 1376 times)

Ok, in Blockland I have noticed whenever I look at more than around 15k bricks, my game lags like there is no tomorrow.  I have included my dxdaig.txt.  I have anti-aliasing turned off and my graphics settings are on low quality.  Neither of these have helped.

I lag when more than 8k, by 15k It's near unplayable. Turn the Draw Distance down in Advanced, that usually helps (as it makes you render less bricks). This is just a natural thing, although I didn't look a your DxDiag.

Edit: Yeah, 15k sounds about right for that hardware. Mine's worse, but it still runs pretty well considering.

Ok Ill try that, but my goal is to be able to veiw more bricks without lagging as much (if that will even be possible because so far computers have mostly been a pain in the @$$ for me.)

edit, not integrated card.

geforce_fx_5200, core clock 150mhz shader/memory clock 400mhz
and your cpu 2.4mhz
memory 512m

you can barely play blockland yeah. but its hard to expect more at those numbers.
if you are willing to spend, even a little bit. theres lots of affordable new cards

Any suggestion on what kind of card to look for?

i say nvidia, cuz its what you already had.
but any PCI 256m card, likely 6 series.

this one is slightly over twice as good as what your using.

to get anything better, you need to upscale the rest of your computer. not likely an option.

You could also use another 500mb of ram.

$90 can make you a proud owner of 4gb 512mb of ram.

I lag when there is about 100k bricks.

I lag when there is about 100k bricks.
100k bricks sounds like a large enough limit for me. What video card are you using?

My computer sucks,... I start to lag at 4000 bricks.
Sad? I know.
