Author Topic: Drop.io - Great file host for Blockland  (Read 1489 times)

People have been uploading their addons to the stupidest download sites, many of them filled with ads, complicated (click here to download), or just plain slow.

So, I present to you, one of the greatest file hosts ever:
http://drop.io/
(I am not affiliated with Drop.io, I just love their service)

Files are stored in 'drops', which are groups of files you upload.

The whole site is clean and easy to navigate, and uploading files is simple. You don't need to login, you just enter the name of your drop (drop.io/yourname), select the files, and upload anonymously.
They've got tons of extra features, as well. Just look at your drop once you create it.

The only thing bad about it is the 100MB limit, but if you need to host a Blockland addon bigger then that... You're crazy.

So, please consider uploading your addons there, it'll make it a lot easier to download. :3

I've been using box.net because the download screen is cool and has no ads, but you have to register for an account and you only get 100MB for free. I'll probably use this after I fill up my box.

I might use this when I become a modder, but still I think you should upload to mediafire just in case that goes down.

I use Media fire because its easy to upload my files and everybody knows how the website works, if you detour from the common flow people can easily get confused.

I say the worst tragedy was the crash of Bjwaymods

I made this thread shortly after MediaFire went down for a couple hours. :3
Of course, it went down for a couple hours right as I was gathering addons.

And I found a neat comparison sheet:

No clue about the bottom though :cookieMonster:
