No, you dumbass forget, the Stargate has 9 chevrons. 7 are commonly used and 8 are for dialing other galaxies.

It's true, it usually uses 7 chevrons to complete a standard gate address, but in a rare instance or two, a power node was created and attached to the gate power supply to enable it to get used of an 8th chevron to allow travel to another galaxy. But since humanity can't create a device short of zaping their brains with an ancient library node and also posses an ancient gene to properly use it, it's rather a waste of time.
