Author Topic: How do I forward ports on a mac  (Read 950 times)

I have been trying to forward ports for a very long time, and I suddenly realized what's wrong. All of the walkthroughs that I've seen can not be done on a mac. We do not have a start button in the lower left corner, and I see the 2 computers next to each other in the lower right corner. How does one do this on a mac? I have a comcast linksys router. That is all I know.

Step one.
Buy a PC
Step two.
Use is to host.
Step three.
???
Step four.
Profit.

Alright to be serious here i have a mac and i use it to host my servers well here it is

1.forward your ports on your router default ports are (28000 and 28030) After that for the ip add at the back any number as long as it's not above 500 and it has to be below 500 lol.
2.now go to system prefrences mine is on my dock personlayy but if its not on your dock search for it.
3. now when your there click network
4.then if you use airport then click advanced settings. then go under TCP/IP
5. when your there type in your ip (the one you set on Portforwarding.)
6. then type in your submask mine is 255.255.255.0
7.then theres the router put in the adress you used to get into your router to port forward.
(if you have any problems Pm me.
