Author Topic: the forums are growing like oh stuff  (Read 6405 times)

We aren't going to stop you, but you'll be treated as such.
As if this forum could get any more annoying.

qft

You're supposed to quote the person. Here's a hint, it's called "Quoted for truth."

I believe it's implied that I quote the person above me sir.

Quoted for truth.

sorry.. haha i didnt know changing the topic would make me a douche..
:) anyways cool. i said woo because i was excited for the forums cuz i read
what entrepreneur in said.

The forums are growing at an increasing rate.  A perfect example of an exponential growth.

No it's not. It's not constant.

So the rate of change is constantly non-constant? Isn't that the definition of exponential growth?

Doesn't count.

No:

Please excuse my crappy ten second MSpaint job.

Non constant is more like:

But I guess if you wanted to be a richard and say that exponetial works as it is never the same slope, you could. But the forums don't follow a perfect arc like that does though, so I would not call it exponential.

Constantly non constant is not a double negative. it is just redundant. Exponential means that the rate of change is non constant and thus, in a graph, not a strait line.

The term you used was constantly non-constant, which covers but is not limited to exponential growth. Say a teacher asked you what 2+2 was and you said it was a number above 0. While that would be true, it is not exactly what was being said.

I would love to continue this debate but I have to go to work.

I hate math. I prefer logic.

If you want to convince me, then plot a graph of the total members each week.
