You only need more than 2 if you are running intense video/image applications are playing games at high resolutions. If you do you need all the RAM you can get, for your system and video card.

For basic computing (What windows was actually made for) 512 for xp 2 for vista as vista sucks
For gaming 1 gig and up. if higher than 4 gigs, use a x64 os
Also ram speed does not do much help if your overall system sucks ass
Also the class is for the test and then i get experience outside the class forgettard so shutup.

Sorry, having trouble finding a new computer to use in the house. Using some slow-ass one now. I had to violently rip my ATI card out my PC because apparently they don't work with nividia chipsets. What do I know!?
