Author Topic: hosting a game with out port forwards  (Read 1204 times)

if any 1 is out there making updates for BL plz make it so you dont have to port forward to plz? that would be nice, thx alot.

I believe someone asked this quite awhile ago. Because of the way Windows works, you need to port forward simple as that. I don't believe there is any way around it.

When I downloaded some random alpha of "The Builders' Game", another person managed to join my server even though I hadn't done any port forwarding yet. (Blockland hosting did not work. I'm not exactly sure how it worked, I think it's something to do with the IRC system.

thx guys for the answers and have fun BL!!!

it's possible to host without port forwarding.  But it's incredibly unreliable.

It could have been UPnP on your router automatically configuring the necessary ports.

Can't be done, as far as I know, because of the way networking works. Your router needs to know what computer to forward to packets to.

Unless badspot was to host every server off of his computer, it won't happen.

NO! I found a way......

Its called...

eff port thing, unpulg router, plug it into the PC/Mac your using and reset modem.
What you do... is what the name is. It works. Im running my server like that. :cookieMonster:  :cookie:
