Author Topic: What Internet browser do YOU use?  (Read 6387 times)

OK, I don't want to flip out on someone for being handicapped when they aren't. Use quotes to make it clear next time please.

Also right-clicking the button area allows you to add a bookmark drop down. TWO CLICKS OMG.

I'm sure you could customize a navigation toolbar to include that little nifty bookmark button as well.

That's what I meant.

I tried FireFox. I couldn't get used to the layout, and I didn't see the pages I visited as any better than in IE. At first I thought the tab idea was neat, but then I kept closing out more than I wanted to or getting pestered by the do you want to close multiple tabs dialouge box. If I had it on, I didn't need it, if I had it off, I did. It also pestered me with updates for my add-ons that I never used.

1. There are tabs in IE.
2. Learn to not need the box, then your experience will be much more enjoyable.
3. Uninstall the add-ons.

Whats wrong with the firefox bookmarks pulldown menu? its easy to use and convenient.

I have tried to upload a screenshot I took of my bookmarks but of course this forum sucks when it comes to uploading even tiny attachments.

When I got IE 7, I saw that it had tabs, too. I didn't bother with them. I tried for a day before giving up(yes, I know it may take alot longer) to get myself to use tabs in browsing. I am used to the layout of IE more than that of FireFox. the only reason I have to switch to FireFox at the moment is to get people to stop asking me to, and I don't give in to peer pressure that easily.

I used IE for a while, then I switched to Firefox. Why? Because you can change the look of the browser. Seriously, they all do the same thing; they surf the internet. It pushes my buttons just fine.

Thats funny. When I use firefox most sites break up the format on me.
I would post an example, but the server is in maintenence.
There are others, but I dont feel like searching for them.

Also, because I'm on a slower computer, I cannot run Firefox without my 3d applications slowing down excessivly. It seems to use quite a bit of memory.
I also find Firefox crashes a lot more often than IE, but atleast in Firefox you can restore your session. (while sometimes that's the problem, one of the pages is crashing it)
Whether something is good or not is up to the user, this is just my experience.

Quit arguing over it, you aren't gonna be able to switch anyone over to FF with your incessant friendry.

The Firefox Bookmarks menu is remniscent of Windows 95. It feels sticky.
I downloaded an addon to put a button at the top left, but it just doesn't feel the same. IE's layout feels so much more fluid. I'll give it another day, but so far, Firefox isn't working for me.

Wait, You need an add-on now to use IE on the same computer!?
Damn it, thats what you call clingy.

IETab is an Add-On included with the Windows version of FireFox that lets you switch to the Internet Explorer rendering engine (rather than Gecko) with one button, for the few websites which are incompatible and still designing their websites for IE rather than internet standards.

Yuki: Right click on the toolbar with Back/Forward/Reload/etc buttons, select "Bookmarks Toolbar" as on, then right click on it again and select 'customise'. It's then possible to drag around the items on the bars, things like the Search/Address bars and move where the bookmarks items are displayed as well as adding a few buttons which are normally in side-menus. Try changing the layout to see if you can find one you like.

I don't give a stuff what I use as long as it has Tabs and can block pop-ups. The end.
