Why do Bockland users F-ing suck!

I have been running a dedicated server for about a week and have a few concerns

I had to disabled all weapons and projectiles because they are annoying, worthless spammer tools (like some jackass shooting you with rockets at point blank over and over while you try to build)

I created a welcome message that tells users they will be banned if they ask to be admin (but they STILL do anyway!!! WTF?)

Most annoying of all is that everyone just makes an utterly cluttered MESS of my server with worthless gimmicky events, emitters, flashing lights, and random spam bricks. Then they all cry when I clear it all (and I DO mean EVERYONE. I wish I took some screenshots to show you)

I thought the point of Blockland was to build cool and impressive structures, forts, skyscrapers, ect.....
It has been a while since I have played Blockland and am wondering if I am missing the point of it all? Or is everyone that joins my server handicapped?


Is there a way to create a popup window that appears when you log in so I can create a rules list?

Also, I have no problem with swearing and have the e-tard filter turned off yet all curse words are censored. Whats up with that?

99.9% of Blockland users are indeed handicapped, you've missed nothing, they have.

Add-Ons section has a rules add on in which you will have to modify yourself.

Go into advanced options and un-tick the censor chat.

To get a decent build out of the random public you need a theme.  In the past I've had good results from building a road grid with 32x or 16x holes in it for people to build in.  Currently I'm having pretty good success with my community terrain build based on a 64x grid (although some dumbasses built off the grid and now half of it is messed up). 

This is the internet, so if someone is a jerk just ban them.  If you ban them for a day or two instead of permanently you won't even feel guilty.

The swear filter used to be server-side, but has been moved to the client-side. You can turn it off in the advanced section of the options dialog (GUI Options --> Censor Chat).

Is it just me or is the BL community one of the stupidest AND cruelest communities around? Seriously, I've seen forums laugh and joke about SPAM BOTS, but here there's a new 10 page drama topic every week.

I agree with Badspot there. Give them a space to build and a set theme, and you'll end up with something decent (well, from half of the community anyways). City builds get a bit tiring but you could mix it up. I've seen all kinds of different things. Personally, I think a community theme park is pretty fun to host.

Welcome to the world of running a blockland server,i ran one for about a month or 2,i had rules posted on bricks and if you left a lot of usless crap around like 10 cars or a bunch of weapons,1st time you got a 24 hr ban,next time you got a week ban,if you did it a 3rd time you got a perma ban,i dound out that a good percent of the people that came were kids that are just spoiled,i dndt trip too much because people like that will go no where in life,but laying down a grid like bad spot said will get people to build some cool stuff,and if they build crap or a bunch of macro junk you can kjust click on their name and clear their bricks.

I Keep very loyal SA's and Admins. I also have a set of VERY strict rules. I perma ban on the first offense and if I feel like it, just kick em. I find that this works out good but it is almost impossible to work things out without having a few regular visitors who try to guide the others.

People not allowed in my server: People who ask too many damn questions, people who build stuffty things and leave, people who think we're friends because "I was that blockhead you told to stop hammering you (true story)," girls, generally annoying people.
