You could make a power system for a city using relays :D Like you could make it so that every house has a power box and if the main power box is turned off the power lines stop flowing.

NiXiLL had something for one of those common lab builds like that.
He had a working power system, which everyone seemed to follow without question.

I made a power system in Spation's server that used moving Radio Wave projectiles. It worked quite well (I made a powered light and music box) but was quite noisy.
