I think that they kinda killed age of empires when they went to the 3d style of it. The fact that everything was on a grid was what I liked about aoe, but what pissed me off the most is that they went from the classic square maps to the lame round maps. I think that aoe 2 is and always will be the best.

This man speaks truth, ensemble sold out with AoE3.

The DS version seems to not have all the stuff, and to use turn based combat or something like that.

The DS version is nothing like AoE but its an enjoyable TBS if you like em.

What also makes the round maps worse is that they are nowhere near the size of the old square ones, you would think they could have done better. Also, I bought the ds version 3 times, and all three times the game never worked. They didnt do a very good job making the ds version if you ask me.

According to what microsoft says, there will still be new age of empires, they are just not sure which company will make it. In theory, nothing is really happening, because they are closing ensemble but a new company will come from that and the head leaders of ensemble will run the new company. The only people really getting the shaft is some of the employees.

Oh, good. I hope to God they make a second Age of Mythology, just not as crappy as the first one. Good game, but just isn't in quality.

Also, Age of Empires 2 was WAAAY better. 3 is just failure, I regret buying it. Why haven't I sold it yet...?
