Author Topic: What the forget is Wrong With Dentists These Days?  (Read 5194 times)

Ok, so today I went to the dentist, to get a mold, and a tooth pulled... again. :/
So, she gives me that temporary numbing stuff, so she can inject what she calls "sleeping water". I forgot the real name.. something with a "N"... I wanna say nicotine, but I know I'm wrong. :cookieMonster:
Anyways, she said that it would numb half of my mouth, chin, and lip. Well she put so much of that damn stuff in my cheek, that I couldn't feel my loving face! Why the hell do they put so much in these days? It doesn't even work half of the time. When she had to pull the mold out, it felt like she yanked out my jaw too. The 3 dentists that were looking at my teeth and doing different things, all asked my age, even though you can tell that they obviously didn't give a stuff. They have a movie you watch over head, but they put on some Alvin and the Chipmunks crap. They kept wanting to give me this damn "happy gas", or as she said, "Nitrous", to make me feel more comfortable. It made me feel like I was going to puke.

This is why I now hate the dentist.
I had to get a shot in my mouth for a cavity, that sucked. Stupid mental foramen nerve.

According to my dentist, there are several different types of novacaine. When I had a bunch of cavities to get filled, he had to try about 5 different types to find one that completely dulled the pain.

I didn't feel like making a topic so I'll say it here.

I had a Root Cbrown town Monday.  :/
I had one, it loving hurt.

I don't see why they try to give this gas to you, when it's basically the equivalent to sniffing some street drugs, only a lesser dose.

Because as far as I know, there are no ill side effects to NOZ....at least no permanent ones. I could be wrong though.

The only way I can get through a dentist appointment is with laughing gas and a movie.

Everything on earth that you consume has side effects.

Ill ask my sister, shes going to learn dentistry so she my know ( shes in colledge right now and she has been a dental assistant for a while)

I had a tooth chipped in half once. About a week of painfull dentistry madness (ie. Root cbrown town, tooth dieing, stuffload of tooth castings and molds, Actually re-assembling the tooth, And a metal rod replacing the nerve) You could hardly tell.

I got so much one time I couldn't open my eyes. It was an annoyance.

Atleast you don't have one of these. I have Scars on the inside of my cheeks because of this thing. Can't eat stuff Either! D;<   However bad you think this thing is it is 3 times worse.

Yeah, I was pretty forgetin' numb but there was one thing he did, I don't know what the forget it was, but that stuff hurt.  Like 3 times.

My dentist is cool, when I said I felt a little uncomfortable about a filling, the nurse seemed to start really advocating for laughing gas but the dentist thought I didn't even need the numbing shot :P Although I do feel a little talked down to sometimes, then again what else are they going to talk about in limited time?

Yeah, I said ill side effects. Nice to omit what you like to try and make yourself seem witty.

yeah going to the dentist is crazy weird, like twilight zone crazy.

i get put out to get work done, and i wake up with my fly down and my shirt is buttoned all wrong.
wtf at tooth ghosts?
