Suuuuure Tom, if I'm gonna make my maps have pointless interiors then I'll make them look nice. Too bad my interiors are awesome and multivalent. Thank you, come again.

I'm not talking about your single interior human scale maps. You should have focused on making a small handful of interiors look nicer instead of having so many.

I'm actually working on architecture stuff right now. I'm designing the interior for my brother's gym and it will actually be built soon. It's an awesome opportunity that I don't want to pass up.

I'm not talking about your single interior human scale maps. You should have focused on making a small handful of interiors look nicer instead of having so many.

Should they also have parallax mapping and be lined with gold? People tend to forget this is free and takes up a lot of my personal life that I could have used for something more important.

The interiors are supposed to look like brick buildings, and it took 11 weeks of constant work just to make them look like that. If you want them to look nicer, build in them, that's the point. I put so many of them in so that they can be multifuctional in their quantity; like if you are having a large-scale DM there are plenty of places to hide. Or if you are having a free build, you have variety of places and buildings to choose from. Also, the "bland" interiors are meant to inspire people to build their own detailed brick buildings. That's what I mean by multivalent. If I just had a few, yet very detailed buildings it would make the city feel empty, as I discovered through the progression of making this map.

Looking at the OP, apparently there was a GSF Paradise for old RTB. Was the new one based off of that or are they completely different?

The new one was based off the game Just Cause, but it wasn't necessarily a recreation. The old GSF Paradise was just a couple small islands with an umbrella on one of them, which is where I came up with the idea for GSF Life's a Beach. I still have some pics of it:
