Does anyone know of an efficient way to record your own webcam video?

Doesn't Windows have a default type recording system? If not try fraps or other programs that record active screens.

I haven't tried Fraps yet, but I have Vista and apparently Movie Maker had a recording system until now. >.<
EDIT: Fraps doesn't work.

Try Camstudio or Camtasia.

Fraps kills your drivers, takes 12 Gigs of space!

I don't about this "kills your drivers" crap, but yes, the files it produces are large because there isn't enough time to encode them while it is recording. All you have to do is compress them later.
