You have to right click to shoot the orange portal.

1.i spawned
2.i planted a 2x2 brick
3.i wrenchs'd it
4.i spawned me a portalgun
5.i took the portalgun
6.i had my portalgun ready to use
7.i left clicked made a blue portal
8.i right clicked nothing

did that explain it for you?
