Author Topic: A Storyline For Blockland.  (Read 4112 times)

One prob with the campaign idea tho.
How would it end?
Way 1: You die.
Way 2: You lose Blockland to Newbs and Badmins.
Way 3: Badspot congratulates you for you're efforts.
Way 4: You kill everyone but Builderman was still alive and right as hes about to kill you,you teleport to a safe haven then Badspot congratulates you. then you get cake :cookieMonster:

Cake finish...

LAMETH.

How about a spiffeh new avatar option:

A SPARKLY CROWN!

Better idea, Story Mode doesn't really have much of a story, so it's more of a campaign, composed of missions and battles which unlock uselessly neat things like avatar options or something passive like name color changing

Actually no, maybe there could be some sort of backstory that's thin and very undeveloped: Maybe you play a minifig who's ridiculously rich that all the other minifigs scorn and distrust for something that your minifig didn't do so you have to regain trust by joining the blockland task force (BTF?) and completing missions for trust, measured by trust points, with missions being unlocked as you get more and more trust points, and get the ability to add more and more minifigs to your entourage of minifigs who help you get more trust points or something and you sloooooowly get more and more trust until you become some sort of minifig celebrity and are allowed to visit the celebrity who screwed your reputation up in the first place, who just happens to be EEEEEEEVIL and wants to kill all minifigs but him so he made some sort of laser or something that he uses throughout the final boss battle which ends in him exploding for no reason and you get access to all avatar options that you may not have gotten during the course of story mode

Some ideas for missions:

Destroy all hostile green enemies, but don't hit the equally hostile red enemies
Evade a human's sight until you reach a specific point in the level
Destroy a human-built creation without being spotted

Knock all hostile green enemies off the platform without hitting them directly
Destroy all hostile red enemies via ricochet or splash damage, and defeat all green enemies with direct damage
Drive from point A to B without letting your incredibly fragile vehicle explode due to enemy attack

Destroy all enemies within the time limit
Escape a room within the time limit, avoiding traps

Defeat a large powerful enemy with limited ammo, weapon selection, and health

Defeat all enemies with either melee weapons or traps laid throughout the stage
Destroy a very tough legion of very tough enemies and vehicles before it reaches a pickup point

...

Wait, are we even talking about a story mode?

Story Mode, A Storyline, or a Campaign Mode.

Not sure, but I filled a notebook up with mission ideas.

Something more realistic in most areas.

                                                                        Section 1: Intro

A scientist, creating minuature robots named "Spots", Went making little models of the future actual thing. The scientist never had or has succeeded in his career, because he thought it was a far-stretched Idea, due to loss of imagination. The scientist actually was a young boy at the time of making the one model. We are not sure if this was his first model, but we know this.

The young boy had made one, out of a mold he had made using a software and a special printer he got from a company his dad worked at, which was a jeweler. This company developed a software for designing ring molds on a normal PC, and printing it on the printer. He made a mold, named the "Blockhead", because he tried a new method of not making it so round, but a block. He did not like this because the legs and arms weren't attached right, so the robot would never realistically work, thus born the name "Badspot". His actions after are unknown or currently confidential.

                                                                    Section 2: Rise of Blockland

Coincedentily, a leak of nanotechnoligy that leaked from, guess whos lab, had been spreading all over the country ruining certain things, Hacking pcs, even making flying cars. (not a flying wheeled jeep reference.) Had come across this model. It was in an archive of the scientists goods that he kept. You always kept faulty experiments. The nanobots had taken hold and bound the hands and feet to the rest of the body, and it sprung to life. The nano's seemed "thrilled" at this perfect size body to start, well, the first artificial intelligence. The nanobots had eventually forgot they were nanobots, and lived as beings with different personalitys.

The blockheads developed a way to build, with materials from expired blockheads. This unknown material, went to developing "Bricks" and they used their nanotechnology to basically control the bricks from a distance. The nanobots flew through the air, and moved things. Nanobots are microscopic, and they can also change color. The blockheads had tools to change nanobot color, to make unlimited color possibilitys for bricks. New technology emerged, they still had no Idea what was making them be able to move, or aware that they were not alive. They were intelligent enough that the equivalent of their "scientists" were able to type a special language to control the nanobots, and make mechanical parts. Such as jeeps, magic carpets, and even guns, using nanotechnology to send shards of plastic flying in a direction, thus war brokeout. A scientist named THE OD NOTOR had been experimenting with the nanobots, there was a little issue and a virus of tainted nano's broke out. Infecting blockheads and turning them into the horrid, Zombie. War broke out with the zombies, changing the more playful "Deathmatches" to an allout war. Thousands of plastic shards ablaze and blockheads screaming the well know death shreik, "Eeih". The first to arive in an area, is called an admin, and is set to balance the area out. Admin have to let the blockheads kill the zombies, rather than using his/her power to wipe them out. Badmins have cheated the world, creating blockheads who think they can do everything - noobs. The noobs didn't posess a great threat, even though many blocklanders feared them greatly, and non noobs were called noobs. A blockheads age was determended by their Interserver Digits or ID. This number started with 0, which is the great Badspot, as I will get to later, and go's up by one when a new blockhead is manufactured. Elitism of the lower IDs has ravaged, causing high ID blockheads to be Banished, or banned from certain areas. Groups of Blocklanders named clans were formed, mostly determening status by building ability.

                                                           Section 3:   Human Interaction

There hasn't been any conflicts with humans in blockhead history, because they fear them and avoid them. They go into deserted houses and the manufacterers and scientists remodel them and refurbish them. Most commonly, the blockheads work on flat planes for construction.

>Present time   -               That was my backstory, this is a possible storyline.

Blockheads are growing, and they want to show "the scientist" what he has done. A group of them set on a journey to his lab. On their journey, avoiding humans is critical. The scientist becomes aware of there pressence and the nanobots., and seeks do destroy them. (sending mass armys of zombies? bots?).

I think mine makes the most sense, and doesn't make noobs sound like a nother speciesm just people with high self esteem, but nothing to present.

Nice, but I am aiming for a more mythical, Blockheads barely scraping from day to day, desperate bid for survival theme.

Something more realistic in most areas.

I want it, as a story, to begin with Badspot starting it, and then it just all goes downhill from there. Oddly enough, it kinda reminds me of Gears.
